so i was lazy the last few weeks and didn't even do a weekly update post.... sue me...lol
Large and in Charge!
Size of baby: According to babycenter.com the baby is about the length of a Swiss Chard (??). I prefer The Bump's comparison which is now a Watermelon...yep that sounds right.
Your baby is now considered "full term," even though your due date is three weeks away. If you go into labor now, his lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. (Some babies need a bit more time, though. So if you're planning to have a repeat c-section, for example, your practitioner will schedule it for no earlier than 39 weeks unless there's a medical reason to intervene earlier.)Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +33 pounds approximately.
Maternity Clothes: this hasn't changed recently. i can not wait to be back in regular clothes.
Gender: BOY!
Movement: Still lots of movement, I can't believe he still has any room in there to move but he's still doing body rolls on a regular basis although some of the movements have become more jerky recently.
What I miss: pretty much anything that is considered normal activity, putting on shoes, laying on my stomach, being able to walk anywhere without being out of breath.
Sleep: I get up to pee like a million times but night time has gotten much better since i started using a stool to get in and out of bed.
Symptoms: mainly just all over soreness.
Cravings: strawberry smoothies
Doctor's Appointment: I'm adding this since I'm now going every week. As of last Friday I'm still not dilated at all which is good. Also, she is guessing he's around 7-7 1/2 pounds! Which would explain why I'm so uncomfortable. I also tested negative for the Group B Strep test which is good and means I won't need to get antibiotics.
Best Moment this week: being completely done with my baby prep. all clothes and bottles are washed. bedding is on, car seat is in and bag is packed. i am as ready as i am going to be until he gets here.
What I am looking forward to: just ready to meet my little man already and having a huge plate of sushi.... :)

34 Weeks
Size of baby: According to babycenter.com the baby is about the size of a cantaloupe (this feels about right)
Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds and is almost 18 inches long (pfft i am thinking that this weight estimate is not even close). His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +28 pounds approximately. I have actually slowed down on weight gain these last few weeks which i find shocking considering how hungry i feel all of the time.
Maternity Clothes: Yep and I'm already sick of the few outfits that I keep having to rotate but I refuse to buy more clothes to just wear for a month.
Gender: BOY!
Movement: He still moves pretty consistantly although i expect that he is running out of room in there.
What I miss: Being able to roll over easily in bed, put my shoes on without a struggly and just generally being able to move around without discomfort.
Sleep: I have actually had a few issues this week with falling asleep which is very unlike me.
Symptoms: Same as always. Back pain, my feet hurt,
Cravings: I'm ALWAYS thirsty.
Best Moment this week: Washing all the baby blankets and a lot of the clothes-Nesting has kicked in full force. Also, at my dr.'s appointment today they said that my low lying placenta has moved to where it should be so that is a good thing and the estimated weight of this "little" guy is 6lbs 4oz. HOLY COW I still have 4 more weeks to go.
What I am looking forward to: still waiting on my CD with the maternity pictures on it (hopefully that will be in the mailbox today) and our beer/diaper/superbowl party this weekend.

33 weeks
Size of baby: According to babycenter.com the baby is about the size of a pineapple
This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +28 pounds approximately. I seem to be gaining about a pound a week which is what I should be doing at this point.
Maternity Clothes: yup
Gender: BOY!
Movement: Lots of movement and it's getting stronger everyday. Sometimes it feels like he is having a dance party in there.
What I miss: Being able to just move around easily like I use to. Even the smallest things like getting dressed in the morning or getting off the couch is a struggle nowadays.
Sleep: I get up about once every hour to pee but don't seem to have too hard of a time falling back asleep.
Symptoms: this week hasn't been too bad although i feel a little more out of breath lately. that may be contributed to how high i feel that he is sitting.
Cravings: sweets and tea.
Best Moment this week: Having my baby shower last weekend. It really was the best one that i have ever been to and i love my friends.
What I am looking forward to: Hopefully getting the proofs back for my maternity photos and working on my thank you notes for the shower. Also we are having D's 9th b-day party on saturday so i hope to not be too pooped from that.

32 Weeks
Size of baby: According to babycenter.com the baby is about the size of a large jicama (WTF is a jicama)
By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, he'll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +27 pounds approximately. I'm thinking my goal of not gaining more than 30 pounds is out the window considering I still have about 7 weeks left.
Maternity Clothes: Maternity, maternity, maternity and a few big t-shirts for sleeping.
Gender: BOY!
Movement: All day everyday. He becomes the most active right after I eat something.
What I miss: Not feeling uncomfortable 24/7 and grunting and groaning every time I try and do something.
Sleep: Good nights and bad nights.
Symptoms: Same old same old; backaches, braxton hicks, some slight swelling at the end of the day if i have spent considerable time on my feet and just recently minor heartburn. Good times.
Cravings: just food in general. i feel like i stay hungry like 90% of the time that i am awake.
Best Moment this week: Getting my maternity photos re-done last weekend. I can't wait to see how these turned out. And i finally finished up in the nursery.
What I am looking forward to: My baby shower is this weekend which is being thrown by J. I know that it will be great and only 26 more days left to be at work.... :)

31 Weeks
Size of baby: According to babycenter.com the baby is about the size of four navel oranges (really? That's such a lame comparison, they couldn't think of anything better than that?)
This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds and is heading into a growth spurt (Good Lord, like I'm not big enough already). He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +25 pounds approximately. this is a lot higher than i wanted to be at this point but what can you do now.
Maternity Clothes: all of the time. i bought a few more things last week that i hope will get me thru until the end.
Gender: Baby Boy! Xander Cruz
Movement: He has been so active this week that it is crazy. the other night i laid my cell phone on my belly and watched it bounce around for like 20 mins straight.
What I miss: Bending over has become the biggest challenge whether it is to shave my legs or just putting my shoes on.
Sleep: ok i guess i get up at least 4 times to pee in the middle of the night and occasionally still take naps after work.
Symptoms: Backaches, tightness in the belly both skin and muscle and serious bloody gums.
Cravings: i have gotten back on a fruit kick this week which sucks because with it being winter time i don't have a ton of options besides apples and bananas.
Best Moment this week: Finally making a decision on a pediatrician and i really like her a lot. that is a weight off my shoulders.
What I am looking forward to: One Saturday we are retaking our maternity photos since i wasn't all that impressed with the first batch. Fingers crossed that they come out well.

30 Weeks
Size of baby: According to babycenter.com the baby is about the size of a head of cabbage.
Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and he weighs almost 3 pounds. A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +25 pounds approximately depending on what time of the day i weigh.
Maternity Clothes: all maternity all of the time...i did buy a few more things from old navy over the weekend but hopefully that will be the last round that will get me through until the end. Gender: Baby Boy!
Movement: his movements are getting stronger everyday he seems to be having the hiccups more often.
What I miss: not being so achy all of the time. this has by far been my most uncomfortable week yet.
Sleep: still getting up 17 times a each to pee
Symptoms: Lots of backaches and basic discomfort. bloody noses and teeth when i brush them.
Cravings: Nothing in particular that i can think of right now.
Best Moment this week: Hitting the 30's! Only about 8 weeks left which is amazing to me. although i am ready for this to be over i also feel like the time has just flown by.
What I am looking forward to: all of the fun upcoming events that we have going on this month, Texans playoffs, maternity photos, my shower, and D's 9th b-day. it is going to be a packed month.

29 Weeks
Size of baby: According to babycenter.com the baby is about the size of a Butternut Squash
Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +25 pounds approximately. I think about 15 pounds are in my boobs... :)
Maternity Clothes: full on
Gender: Baby Boy!
Movement: ALL. THE. TIME. He also loves to give me little hard spots all over my belly from where he's sticking out what I imagine is either his ass or his head or both.
What I miss: sushi and strong coffee. i have cheated a few times this week and taken sips from some of my son's Dr. Peppers..... :)
Sleep: I've actually slept really well this week! Wednesday night i slept through that entire night without getting up once to pee.
Symptoms: Backaches and basic discomfort. I had an experience with the siatic nerve earlier in the week that was not fun by any means.
Cravings: I have been on a sweets kick big time this week.
Best Moment this week: I passed my Glucose Test I took on Wednesday!!! So I can still eat sugar which is nice because i don't respond well to being told NOT to do something....lol
What I am looking forward to: Ringing in the new year and getting ready for all of the upcoming events that we have going on.
