12 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights
How Far Along: 12 weeks!
Size of baby: According to babycenter.com the baby is about the size of a lime
The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.
Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +/- 2lbs
Maternity Clothes: no maternity clothes yet. Just looser fitting tops.
Gender: too early to know yet. I am really hoping for a girl but F is convinced it is a boy. Guess it has to be one or the other right?
Movement: Just lots and lot of gas.
What I miss: being able to sleep through the night without having to get up at least twice to pee and my energy and SUSHI.. :(
Sleep: I am still exhuasted like 90% of the time
Symptoms: Thankfully i haven't had much nausea but I've started getting more headaches lately which is super annoying.
Cravings: anything and everything.
Best Moment this week: telling my son that he is going to be a big brother. he is very excited. What I am looking forward to: My doctor's appointment on Friday. I am having my downs syndrome scan and another ultrasound. I always enjoy an opportunity to see him/her. Also, finally getting out of the first trimester, it has seemed never-ending.

Here we are

So I recently found out that I am pregnant again. I already have an 8 year old son. Honestly I have to say that I am pretty nervous about starting from scratch all over again. It has been years since I have changed a diaper or made a bottle. I almost feel like a first time mom. I decided to create this blog to document my journey so that I can look back on it later. The blog world really wasn't up and running ramped during my first pregnancy like it is now and there is so much that I just can't remember. So here goes nothing.
